With over 20 years in real estate and more than 1,000 successful transactions, Vianney Godbout is known for his direct approach, strong negotiation skills, and commitment to delivering results in Montreal's most competitive markets.
His mission is simple: protect his clients' interests and consistently achieve outstanding results through strategy, clarity, and execution.
Born in Montreal, Vianney speaks French and English and holds dual Canadian and French citizenship. He is a member of the OACIQ, the self-regulatory organization of real estate brokerage in Quebec.
2001: Rookie of the Year at Remax — a standout start, right out of the gate. He then became Executive Director of Sales for well-known real estate groups, including Groupe Cholette, selling triplex projects, high-rise condos, and custom-made luxury homes.
That period gave him a wide range of expertise to complete different types of transactions clearly and efficiently, on both the legal and relational sides. He also represented Canadian developers at numerous real estate trade shows in major cities across France and Spain.
A passionate cook, Vianney partnered with Carl Gauthier and chef Claude Lebaillon to open La Chasse-Galerie, a Plateau-Mont-Royal restaurant inspired by the Quebec legend of the same name, built around a hyper-local concept sourcing nearly 90% of its products locally.
His love of food also led him to appear three times on the Quebec TV show Un souper presque parfait, where his score went unbeaten for more than five years. La Chasse-Galerie has since closed, but the experience remains a defining chapter of his story.
In August 2021, Vianney was introduced by Denis Coderre as one of Ensemble Montréal's seven new candidates, running for city councillor in the Marie-Victorin district in Montreal's municipal election.
A way for him to get more directly involved in the decisions shaping his city, beyond his role as a broker.
Several years ago, Vianney went through a serious health crisis tied to obesity — a 72-hour stretch where his life was at risk. He now speaks about it openly, including on public podcasts, as a genuine turning point.
Out of that experience came a profound transformation, and a discipline he now applies to everything he takes on — including his real estate career.
2024–2025: Global Luxury & Development Chairman, with over 1,000 transactions to date and recognition among Quebec's most active brokers — backed by a network that extends well beyond the Montreal market.
Since he was a kid, family and close friends have simply called him "V." The nickname stuck, and over time it became a reflection of how Vianney works: a close, direct relationship with every client, no facade.
"Better Call V" is that idea — when you need a broker you can actually trust, you call V.
Vianney with Gabriel Siciliano, broker at The Agency
Vianney Godbout is a broker affiliated with The Agency Montreal (Westmount, Outremont, and Laval offices), a local team of over 60 brokers and dedicated support staff (marketing, transactions, administration) — itself part of the international The Agency network, founded in Los Angeles in 2011 by Mauricio Umansky on a simple idea: sell a lifestyle, not just a property, with a culture of collaboration rather than internal competition. The network now counts over 100 offices in more than 10 countries.
The Agency has been featured in the Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills and publishes The Agency Montreal, a magazine dedicated to Montreal luxury and lifestyle. This international exposure directly benefits Vianney's clients in Montreal: high-end marketing, a network of elite brokers, and global visibility for every listing.
